CRITICISM OF BRITISH IN PALESTINE AN AMERICAN PROTEST (Rec. 1L45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 18. Senator Mead (Democrat, New York), addressing the Senate, protested against the “cruel action ’ oi the British Government in Palestine. He asserted that the British were engaged in a campaign of terrorism and gave as his opinion that America should not send troops there. Senator Mead added: “This country should tell the British Government that this ghastly mockery must cease.”
