WRESTLING Contest at Greymouth To-night
Earl McCready, the British Empire champion, will meet Ken Kenneth of Hamilton in a professional wrestling contest at the Greymouth Town Hall this evening. The title will be at stake, and the bout is scheduled for eight 10-minute rounds. McCready is well known as one of the finest wrestlers to visit New Zealand, and his appearance in Greymouth, will be welcomed.
The New Zealander, Kenneth, has had a good deal of experience against overseas matmen, and his performance against Jack Claybourne, the coloured champion of the world, at Auckland this season, was an indication that he is a worthy opponent for most of the visitors from overseas. This will be the first wrestling bout at Greymouth since the start of the war, and the association should be rewarded with a packed house. The preliminary bouts will be between Grey district amateur wrestlers.
