WRESTLING Katan Beats McCready on Points

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 29. A professional heavy-weight wrestling contest between Jack Katan (Canada) and Earl McCready (Canada) was won by Katan on points. McCready gained a fall in the fourth round with a rolling scissors splits, and Katan evened in the seventh round with a submission fall with an Australian crab. Katan had the better of the final round. It was announced before the match that the contest would be for the British Empire title. However, that cannot be won on points, and McCready is therefore still the holder. A crowded house enjoyed a fine exhibition of wrestling.
