Sparrows Stop Train.
! Two sparrows caused a failure of ’ the h?gh tension power supply for the Lyttelton railway line yesterday when they flew on to a change-over 'switch ‘near the new E. shed at about noon.
The switch was blown to pieces. The 12.10 p.m. train had to be drawn by steam, and the 1.15 train was delayed. The charred bodies of the sparrows Were found near the switch.~(P.A.)
