HOOPER. —In cherished memory of a gallant and beloved son Antony John, 2/N.Z.E.F. Died of wounds in Italy, April 23rd, 1945. Aged 23 years. His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that Nature might stand up and say to all the world: This was a man. Coal Creek. HOOPER. — Antony John, 26 Bn. 2/N.Z.E.F. Died of wounds in Italy, April 23rd, 1945. To know him was to love him; It was an honour and a privilege to be his friend. A tribute from his comrades in action. HOOPER, Antony John. —In loving memory of our dear brother Tony, who died of wounds in Italy, April 23, 1945. Unto the generations yet unborn I give this charge: Be men to strike for justice, Feai’ not the leaqued might of armed oppression Whether at home or out beyond the borders.
