The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A vigorous depression is moving away south-eastwards from
Poverty Bay; an anti-cyclone extends on to the South Island from the south Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m, to-morrow: Light to moderate and variable winds, weather fine and cool. Further otitlobk: Fair to fine.
LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 1010; thermometer, 47; wind, easterly (gentle breeze); sky, blue; river, normal; bar. moderate swell; rainfall, nil. (The total rainfall to date this year is 27.66 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 19ft lOin. •
