WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

A large crowd gathered in the Wallsend Hall on April 15, the occasion being the seventh birthday of the Dobson Women’s Institute. Members attended from Barrytown,. Runanga, Blaketown, Greymouth, Stillwater and Brunner. Those unable to attend sent greetings. The items produced by some of the local members were thoroughly enjoyed. During the supper interval, Mrs Lawson, being the oldest member, was called upon to blow out the candles on the cake. After supper Mrs Batey thanked those present for attending and helping to make the function a success,, the various delegates replying. Dancing bought the evening to a close. Mr S. Smith ably carried out the task of M.C., and Miss ■ Watson supplied the music. j
