Railwaymen’s’Wages. “It has been learned that there is a wage increase coming for railway workers,” states the April issue of the Hutt Railway Workshops Gazette. “So far the full details are not knowift It is understood that the cost-of-living bonus will be included in the wages, and there will be' a slight increase over this. This has arisen following the increases granted to the Post and Telegraph workers. In order to maintain uniformity between the two services the railways are due for some increase. It is understood that the lower grades of the first division will benefit, and so will the tradesmen and lowerpaid labourers. So far there is no information regarding the position of semi-skilled workers.”
