THE WEATHER Forecast : Fine and cool
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: — Situation: An anti-cyclone over the south Tasman extends on to New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m., to-morrow: Moderate, variable winds;' weather fine and cool, with frosts tonight. Further outlook: Cloud increasing and scattered rain developing in the south. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1020; thermometer, 54; wind, southerly (light breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, moderate sea; river, normal; rainfall (since Thursday morning), nil. (The total rainfall to date this year is 27.66 inches), The depth on the bar at ligh water yesterday was 20ft Ilin.
