THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair to Fine.
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: — Situation: A belt of high pressure extends from the Tasman Sea across New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Light winds, easterlies predominating; weather becoming fair to fine and mild. Further outlook: Fair to fine conditions continuing. LOCAL RECORDINGS. ’ ,9 a.m.—Barometer, 1021; thermometer, 62; wind, south-east (light breeze); sky, overcast and cloudy; river, normal; bar, moderate swell; rainfall, 5 points. (The total rainfall to date this is now 21.27 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 23ft.
