USELESS THEFT

CHEQUES AND STOCK SCRIP (P.A.) GISBORNE, March 21. Cheques, stock, bonds, share scrip, cash and a few articles of a nominal value of nearly £ 10,000 were stolen from the premises of Messrs McCulloch, Butler and Spence, accountants, by a thief who forced a window at the rear of the building. The cash and stamps totalled £l, the balance being non-negotiable cheques, £6OOO, Government stock £llOO, and share scrip £2200.
