TO-MORROW ’S POLLING
The Raglan by-election, made ) necessary by the death of Mr. .R. Coulter, Labour Member of Parliament, will take place to-morrow. This will be the first time since the General Election of 1931 that there /will be a straight-out contest. The, ’ ■ candidates are Mr. A. C. Baxter i (Labour) and Mr. H. Johnstone (National). I Mr. Coulter was returned, at the General Elections in 1943 by : a minority vote, polling 48 per cent, of the , votes cast, but the position will be ’clarified by the elimination of vote- , splitting. j | The voting at the General Election was as follows:— R.
