OBITUARY

MRS. JANET BIERWIRTH

The death occurred at the Reefton Hospital to-day of Mrs Janet Bierwirth, aged 61, widow of Mr William Bierwirth, who died some weeks ago. She had resided at Reefton all her life. Mrs Bierwirth is survived by four daughters: Mrs F. Lester (Hawera), Mrs H. M. Israelson (Springfield), Mrs W .J. August and Miss Una Bierwirth (Reefton), and three sons, Messrs Frederick (Christchurch), Gordon and Urich Bierwirth (Reefton).

MR. A. 11. ARNOLD

The death occurred at the Westland Hospital yesterday of Mr Arthur Henry Arnold, aged 49, after a long illness. A native of Motupiko, Mr Arnold was employed in the sawmilling industry for 20 years and for the past three years had been proprietor of the City Hotel, Ross. He leaves a widow and a young family of one son and three daughters. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs A. E. Lines (Inangahua) and Mrs C. Thompson and three brothers, Messrs Frank (Lyell) Thomas (Inangahua) and Roy Arnold (Wataroa). Funeral services will be held to-morrow at All Saints Church, Hokitika, and the Hokitika cemetery. * MR. PATRICK BOURKE The death occurred at Auckland, yesterday, of a former resident of Brunner, Mr. Patrick Bourke, in his 90th year. His wife predeceased him many years ago. He is survived by four daughters, Mesdames Padfield (Thames), Mellick, Fowlke and Patterson (Auckland) and three sons Messrs Frank (Auckland), Patrick (Christchurch) and Jack Bourke ■(Greymouth); also 12 grandchildren; and one brohter, Mr. Jack Bourke (Cambridge).
