CRICKET. The first XI of the Greymouth Technical High School left, yesterday, for Nelson where the annual cricket match against Nelson College second XI is to be played to-day and to-morrow. A four years’ contract to play football for either the Dewsbury or the Hull Rugby League club in England has been offered to Jack Campbell, of Dargaville, who was a member of the 1939 New Zealand League team that went to England, and a former South Island representative. For the past two years Campbell has been playing the Rugby Union code in Dargaville. He has been captaining the Northern Wairoa senior team, which has retained the North Auckland premier trophy, the Harding Shield.
