ITALY’S NEW GOVERNMENT ROME, December 10. Signor Alcide de Gasperi has formed a new Italian Government, consisting of representatives of the six former Government parties. The principal appointments are:—Premier and Foreign Minister, Signor de Gasperi; Vice-Premier and Minister of the Constituent Assembly, Signoi- Pietro Nenni; and Minister of the Interior, Signor Giuseppe Romita. The Liberal Party leader. Signoi' Manlio Brosio, whose resignation caused the downfall of the Parri Government, has been appointed Minister of War. The Communist, Signor Mauro Scoccimarro, retains the Finance portfolio. The military authorities have lent the Carabinieri 25 armoured cars and a quantity of automatic weapons to use in stamping out neo-Fascist underground groups who are reviving their activity. Thousands of guerrillas are reported to be hiding in the extensive forests of Lombardy, Piedmont, and'Liguria,. where they are openly preparing to stage an uprising. Many prisons which are insufficiently guarded are other dangerous assembly points for the rebels.
