CYCLING. The Greymouth Cycling Club held a ten-mile road race at Dunollie yesterday, the winner being S. Coombes. There were 13 starters and, though the weather was fine, a variable wind troubled the riders. The first three places were filled by men riding from the limit mark, J. Cooper (scr) gaining fastest time with 27min. Results were: S. Coombes (4min lOsec), 1; N. Edwards (4min lOsec), 2; W. Farworth (4min lOsec),3; O. Finks, 4; T. Malone, 5. SWIMMING The first club morning of the Greymouth Swimming Club was held at the Greymouth Municipal Baths yesterday morning in good weather, and there was a good attendance of competitors and spectators. Races resulted as follow: — , 33 1-3 yards (open handicap): S. .Tones 1, Barrow 2, Walton 3. Relay race: Hales’s team (A. Hales, W. -Hales, McLennan) 1; Walton’s team (Walton, Barrow and Parmenter) 2: Holt’s team (P. Holt, I. Parmenter, W. Thomas) 3. Dive: R, Lovell (lopts) 1; A. Hales (15) and P. Holt (15) equal, 2. AHAURA SPORTS The postponed meeting of the Ahaura Sports Club was hold on Saturday, and there was a good attendance. Entries in the chopping events were smaller than expected, and times were slow on account of hard logs being used. The results of the chopping events were: — Twelve-inch Chop, (Ist heat). —J.
