INDIAN’S “RADIO MIND”
LONG DISTANCE SIGHT LONDON, Oct. 14. Using a ball of white marble with seven black concentric circles, and a triangular brass ramp with seven flames, an Indian law clerk who studies yoga has amazed observers with his “radio mind.” The clerk, 35-year-old M. V. Mitkar, knows “as if by television” what is happening hundreds of miles away, says the Poona correspondent of Associated Press of America, S. G. Sethurman. Sethurman adds: “During a test at which I was present, although there was no chance of his knowing the place where I lived, Mitka I ,' described its location—l2o miles distant in Bombay—with amazing precision. He gave details about .the drawing-room and the persons in it. Subsequent verification proved him correct. “The editor of a Lucknow news paper, who was also present, has houses in three cities,, each hundreds of miles from Poona. Without hesitation, Mitkar described all three in detail, and the description was correct.” Sethurman continues: “One day a friend received a telegram from Madras, 800 miles distant, saying that his mother was seriously ill in hospitai. Mitkar focussed, his mind on the Madras hospital and gave the number of the bed in which the sick woman was lying. He correctly described the colour of the dress she was wearing, and predicted that.she would survive the illness. She did.”
