CYCLING. There was a good attendance at the Greymouth Cycling Club’s track meeting, held at Victoria Park last evening. Heavy rain and the use of the track by horses left conditions poor and the times returned were slow. Results: — Two-mile Senior: M. Bergamini (150), 1; J. Cooper (70), 2; K. Lalor (150), 3. Eight starters. Quarter-mile, Senior: H. Pratt (15), I: R. Pascoe (25), 2; R. Armstrong (25), 3. Ten starters.' Three-mile Senior Scratch Race: M. Bergamini (12 points), 1; JCooper (91 points), 2; P. Duffy (Sipoints), 3. Eleven starters. Junior One Mile: E. Patterson (scr), 1; N. Edwards (30), 2; A. Bergamini (30), 3. Six starters. Novice Half-mile: R. Edwards (20), 1; T. Franklin (30), 2; D. Johnstone (70), 3. Six starters. SOCCER. LONDON, December 5. The Derby County Soccer team is planning to fly next Summer on a tour of Australia and New Zealand The team hopes to leave in the second week in May, will play about a dozen matches, and return in midJuly. TENNIS. (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, December 6. The Lawn Tennis Association announced that Britain had challenged Australia for the Davis Cup. Britain would accept America’s challenge for the Whitman Cup as soon as it was received, the match to be played in England.
