REEFTON NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, Nov. 22. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Reefton Business Men’s Association appointed sub-commit-tee to carry on organisation for a Festivity Week at Reefton, during the Christmastide. The President, Secretary, Miss E, Barry, Messrs C. McElwee. S. C. Robinson, F. Boot and C. Lawn being appointed. The Postmaster asked if the Association would contribute a guarantee or part of a guarantee for a public slot telephone at Reefton. —A resolution was passed that no guarantee be made by the Association, but that the attention of the Ddparment be drawn that no such telephone is available in the town. The District Oil Fuel Controller, Greymouth, wrote advising that it was intended to take the necessary steps towards the -formation of an Oil Fuel Control Committee at Reefton. The Inangahua County Council are to be asked to give attention to footpaths in Broadway, Reefton.
