TENNIS The annual meeting of the McLean Park Tennis Club was held, on Thursday. It was reported that the dub is in a sound financial position. It was decided to do necessary repairs and to endeavour to hold the opening day on December 2. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, Mr P. J. McLean; president, Mr Malloy; vice-presidents, Mr Dennehy, Dr. Bird, Mrs--Keating, Mr C. Russell; secretary-treasurer, Mrs N. Grant. WOMEN’S BASEBALL Women’s baseball games will commence at Greymouth on Sunday when on the Cobden Recreation Ground friendly matches will be played between the four teams already formed in the district. This was decided upon at the first meeting of the Management Committee on Wednesday night, following the formation of the Baseball Association last Saturday. It was decided to make every effort to procure coaches for the teams, and also to write to local basketball clubs asking them to nominate teams in the Baseball Association’s competition, by this means keeping together and in fit condition for next Winter’s sport. It is hoped that the ten basketball clubs will all nominate at least one team, giving the baseball team a strength of at least 10 sides. The following are the friendly fixtures which have been drawn up for Sunday:—Greymouth v. Runanga, Cobden v. Nurses. CRICKET.
