MOTORIST KILLED. CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. Two motor cars collided on the Sf.vx bridge on Monday evening. A passenger. Mrs. Ellen Watford Bloom, aeed 78. of Canterbury, was killed. Her husband, Charles Bloom, received injuries to the chest and to one eye. ‘ He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
WAR CRY. With usual promptitude the Christmas number of “War Cry,” with illustrated calendar for 1946, has been received by “The Star.” Interesting seasonal articles stressing the _ religious note, are included, a contribu-' tion by General Carpenter being featured. The pictorial cover illustrates Bethlehem and Otago.
