DELEGATES’ ALLEGATIONS (Rec. 10.40 a.m.) PARIS, October 4. The world T.U.C., functioning lor the first time as a World Trades Union Federation, after yesterday s approval of the new constitution, heard demands to-day for quick action on reports of “reactionary Government, interference” with Labour organisetlons. The Sierra Leone delegate, Wallace Johnson, said the British colonial administration restricted trade union activity and added if it had not been for the bloodless revolution m Britain in July, he would probably not have been permitted to attend - this conference. , _ r . , . The Cypriot delegate, Michael Mintaines. said the Chairman of his Trade Union had been refused leave lor the conference and also several Cypriot union leaders were arrested on charges of activity against the Government. . The Congress received nominations for the executive committee, which will be the World Labour Cabinet. The names included Murray and Hillman for America, Citrine, Ebby and Edwards for Britain, Kuznetzov, Tarasov and Madame Popova tor Russia, Jouhaux and Frachon for France, and A. E. Monk lor Australia and New Zealand.
