CRICKET (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent) LONDON, September 17. In the final match of the season, Npw Zealand beat M. A. Crouches Eleven at March, Cambridgeshire, by two wickets, in a two-day match. Crouche’s Eleven made 178, r. M. Sharp taking five wickets for New Zealand scored 275 for eight (Pv. T. Morgan 80 not out, T. L. Pritchard 58 not out, K. James 55, M. P. Donnelly (22). CHESS. GREY TENNIS CLUB. The annual meeting of the Greymouth Tennis Club was held last evening, the President, Dr. H. S. Ray, presiding over an attendance of about 20 members. Before opening the meeting, the President extended a welcome to Mr T. McKendry who had recently returned from service overseas. The election of officers took place as follows: President, Dr. H. S. Ray; Vice-Presidents: Messrs F. Dennehy, F. A. Kitchingham and W. Berry; Club Captain, Mr. H. Hill; Secretary, Miss Z. Armstrong; Treasurer, Miss J. opened on Saturday, September 29. At a subsequent committee meeting, nine new members were elected and no resignations were received. BASKETBALL. The Canterbury C grade representative basketball team which has been visiting Greymouth, yesterday played a match with the Greymouth Technical High School team, winning by 14 goals to 5. The Canterbury team left last evening on return to Christchurch.
