NEW YORK, September 15. An Army transport plane exploded in mid-air near Kansas City.’lt resulted in the killing of 22 'of those aboard. Three survivors were taken out of the wreckage, but one of them died later. LONDON, September 14. Twelve occupants were killed when a Halifax troop-transport crashed to-day and burst into flames in a thick fog on the Bodmin Moors, near Launceston, Cornwall. BRISBANE, September 15. Five R.A.A.F. men were killed when a Liberator bomber crashed and caught fire at an aerodrome near Brisbane. The aircraft developed engine trouble after taking off. The pilot attempted to make a crash landing on the side of the aerodrome, but the aircraft hit some trees and burst into flames.
