GREYMOUTH PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING Attending the monthly meeting of the Greymouth Plunket Committee on Wednesday were the following members:-—Mesdames F. M. Dennehy, who presided, F. A. Kitchingham, G. Boucher, M. R. Olson, P. Joyce, V. Roud, M. R. Fahey, F. W. Coleman, Hughes, G. Blair and A. J. Fairmaid. Mrs. Macaulay, who has left for Oamaru, forwarded her resignation, which was received with regret. A letter is to be forwarded to her expressing thanks for her work in the interest of the Plunket Society. Correspondence from Headquarters was dealt with concerning the establishment of bureaux for Karitane Nurses in the main centres, and the appointment of Miss Nichol to Greymouth.

Accounts amounting to £5/1/3 i were passed for payment. I Mrs. Kitchingh-.m reported on the iProvincial Conference held in Ranigiora, mentioning particularly the expedient address by Dr. Helen Deem. An effort was made to have the next conference held in Greymouth, but [after considerable discussion, it was [decided to hold it in Christchurch. The President expressed her thanks to the delegates who had attended the. conference, at their own expense, and at some inconvenience. It. was proof of their interest in the work that they were prepared to meet the cost of such trips. The annual meeting was set down -for October 3, when it is hoped to have a guest speaker address the gathering. The nurses’ report for August was as follows:- —Headquarters and outstations: No. of new cases 47; visits to homes, babies 320, pre-school 2; visits to rooms, adults 358, babies 331, pre-school 35. No. of babies under supervision 496; pre-school 212. Car mileage 239.
