AUCKLAND BUSES AUCKLAND, September 14. All the buses are running as usual to-day, after two days of the drivers’ strike. MEATPRICES WHANGAREI, Sept. 14. In order not to prejudice New Zealand master butchers’ negotiations with the Government regarding increased retail prices, Whangarei butchers will resume selling of meat on Tuesday. The country butchers throughout Northland will resume on Monday. Master butchers emphasise that this is a temporary measure pending the outcome of the negotiations.

COLLISION TRAGEDY AUCKLAND, September 14. One passenger in a car, which collided with a tram on the Great North Road, Grey Lynn, at 11.30 o’clock last night, was killed and three others suffered injuries necessitating their admission to the hospital., '.rhe victims were: — Killed: Cyril James McDevitt, 34, waterside worker, 23 England Street,’ Ponsonby. An outbreak of fire at the Regent Theatre, this evening caused extensive damage to the stage equipment. Fortunately it occurred after the audience had left. Big loud-speakers on the stage behind the screen were seriously damaged, and the screen itself and a curtain were destroyed, as were most of the other stage properties. No damage was done to any other joart of the theatre. It was not possible to give an estimate of the value of the lost equipment, some of which will be difficult to replace for some time. Complete replacement will cost many hundreds of pounds.
