SACRED COMPETITIONS

INTER-CHURCH FESTIVAL.

The second annual sacred competitions conducted by the Inter-Church Youth Council were held in the Methodist Bi-centenary Hail last evening. Adjutant O. Ojala, president of the" - 'Council, presided, and there was a good attendance. The judges were - Rev E. S. Hoddinott and Rev. A J.’Templeton (Scripture readings and recitations), Rev. E. O. Harding (sacred solos), Mrs. T. H. Best (hymn studies). The judges gave helpful criticisms of the efforts of the competitors, and expressed the opinion that the standard was higher than at last year. The outstanding item of the. evening was a paper on the Bible by Mrs. Connie Seebeck. At the conclusion of the competitions the chairman thanked the performers, patrons and judges and also the organiser, Rev. P. R. Page. The evening closed with the Benediction. Results: — .
