REEFTON NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT'.] REEFTON, July 25. Mr. A. F. Wells, postmaster, who has been transferred on promotion to Temuka, was met last night by members of the business community, and entertained at a social evening. Mr. FI. E. RaWstron, President Reefton Businessmen’s Association occupied the chair. In presenting Mr. Wells with a gift from the business community, the Chairman thanked him for his courtesy and attention. He said that the Businessmen’s Association, were grateful to Mr. Wells for the manner in which requests made to the P. and T. Department had been handled by him. He offered congratulation to Mr. ■ Wells on his promotion, and expressed regret at his transfer.- Mr. James Patterson paid a tribute to the work of the guest, who as a local boy had made a mark in his chosen service. He wished Mr. and Mrs. Wells and family a hapny future. Mr. P. S. Dellaca thanked Mr. Wells for his helo to the business community. Mr. V. L.
