RABBITSKIN SALE. DUNEDIN, July 24. The Dunedin Stock Agents’ and Woolbrokers’ Association reports that approximately 78 tons of rabbitskins were offered at to-day’s sale. Competition was keen, and there was a strong demand for ail grades, particularly best Winter does. Values as compared with the previous auction can be quoted on the average firmer as follows: —Best Winter grades, 5d to 18d per lb; other grades of Winters, par to 8d per lb; low grades, 3d to 12d per lb. DUTCH & DANISH NOTES. WELLINGTON, July 25. Netherlands bank notes and cur-, rency notes of a demonination of a hundred guilders have been withdrawn from circulation as from July 14. Notes of smaller denominations will be withdrawn in the near future. Danish bank notes of all denominations have been withdrawn as from July 23. All the Danish notes called in are dated 1943 or earlier, while the new Danish notes are dated 1944. Import into Denmark of notes affected by this call in is prohibited, unless permission is previously granted by Denmark’s National Bank. These announcements were made by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand at the request of the respective authorities. It has not been the recent practice of banks in New Zealand to purchase either Netherlands or Danish notes from the public. Those who hold such notes of any denomination are requested to deposit them for custody with a bank, on or before August 4, accompanied by a letter giving certain detailed information including the date on which notes were acquired and full details as to how the notes were acquired. Subsequent compensation for the notes deposited is subject to investigation by an appropriate national authority. Both the Netherlands Bank and Denmark’s National Bank'state that compensation cannot be expected for notes which are not deposited on or before August 4, 1945. This call in'does not apply to Netherlands East Indies guilder notes of any denomination.
