DUKE OF WINDSOR

VISIT TO ENGLAND, WASHINGTON, July 19. The Duke of Windsor has arrived in Washington on a private visit. He will leave for Canada later to-day. His Royal Highness said he expected to confer with the King and Mr. Churchill in August. The Duchess would accompany him to England. The Duke shook his head when asked if he might be appointed Govern-or-General of Canada, but admitted that he would accept the., post il it were offered. He added that he and the Duchess, after visiting England, would go on to France, “to look after some property there.” The Duke lunched with a group ol United States senators and high Government officials. Mr. Hugh Fulton, one of President Truman’s aides-de-camp, arranged the function.
