WEDDING

WERNER—BRAIN. The marriage was solemnised on June 9 at Mickleton, Gloucestershire, England, of Miss Sheila Brain only daughter of Mr. A. G. Brain and the late Mrs. Brain of Mickleton and Flying Officer S. H. Werner, only son of Mr. and the late Mrs. 11. J. Werner, Dunollie, Runanga. Rew F. Lacy officiated and the service was choral. The hymns .sung were “The Voice that breathed o’er Eden and “Love Divine.” The Bridal March was flayed as the bride entered the church and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” at. the conclusion.’The bride, who was given away by her father, wore heavy white figured silk brocade with train and head-dress of ostrich feathers with flowing veil, and she carried a shower bouquet of dark red roses and earnations. The matron of honour was her cousin, Mrs. Mary Wilson and her bridesmaids were Miss J. Stewart, Miss Doris Brain and Miss Betty Trenfield, the two former wearing figured silk with headdresses of gold leaves and gold shoulder veils and gold mittens, the two latter wearing ice blue satin dresses with headdresses of blue leaves, blue shoulder veils and blue mittens. Little Miss Joy' Brain, train bearer was in pale blue figured satin; all carried shower bouquets of mixed sweet peas. The best man was F/Sgt. B. Reeves, R.A.F. As the couple left the church they were presented with three silver horseshoes. A reception was held at King George’s Hall when 80 guests were entertained. Dancing followed later. For travelling the bride wore a dusky oink suit with coat and hat to match.
