[OUR OWN CORRESi’OXOENT.J There was a good attendance at the Women's Institute jpn . Wednesday afternoon. Mrs J. Reedy presided. Apologies for absence.were received from Mesdames Anichich, Coiiie ana Fahey. The president asked members to stand as a mark of respect to relations of the Murtha and Ollerenshaw families who steen ti.y sufierec. bereavement. Matron Ramsay, ol UiO Westland Hospital, sent a letter u. thanks lor a gift of face cloths and sponge bags. The Dominion President’s letter was read by Mrs Reedy, who also took the “Golden Thread talk. A demonstration, of the making of children’s felt slippers was given by Mrs Ollerenshaw. Social half-hour competitions were won by Mrs Hines and Miss King. Competitions: Jam tarts made with dripping. Mrs Hines 1, Mrs Evcnden 2, Mrs Lawson 3; blooms, Mrs Evenden 1, Miss Hamer 2, Mrs Hunter 3. Hostesses for afternoon tea were Mesdames Gibson and Hamer.
