KILLED IN WAR LONDON, July 5. More than 100 members of families mentioned in “Debrett’s Peerage, Baronetage, Knightage, and Companionage” have been killed in action, or as a direct result of enemy action in this war. The. full hstis given in an honour roll in the 1J45 issue just published. Twenty-three peers and 31 baionets lost their lives on active service and two baronets died as prisoners in enemy hands. Five peers were killed in air raids. A number ot titles have been extinguished through ffin death in. action of their holders. They include the Dukedom of Connaught. the Baronies of Alinvton and Arundeil of Wardour, and the Bar- > pnetcips of Congreve. Diek-Cunyng-bam De Bathe, Hill, Macßobert, and Muntz. During the war 46 new peers and Q 2 new baronets have been created and 873 knighthoods have been conferred.
