CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW

DISPLAY AT GREYMOUTH I The success of amateurs in the Chrysanthemum Show held by St Patrick’s Horticultural Society, in the Columba Hall, on Saturday, was commented upon by the President oi the Society (Mr J. E, A. McKeefry) when presenting _ the trophies awarded, and he pointed out that the Society had been inaugurated primarily for amateur growers. The premier bloom was displayed by S. Smith, who also won the McAra Challenge Cup, the Sutherland' Challenge Shield, and the .Mrs J. Barrow and J. Breeze trophies. The judge of tne chrysanthemum section, ! Mr W. Buchanan, whose display of) these blooms was a feature of the' show, awarded the premier. bloom to Mr Smith by only half a point, the runner-up being a bloom submitted by Mr J. Jackson.
