PATRIOTIC GAME. Played in continuous rain, a Rugby match between R.S.A. and Greymouth at Rugby Park for patriotic purposes yesterday afternoon, drew a good attendance considering, and the Patriotic Fund will benefit to tire extent of about .C6/15/-. Though most of the first half went by with neither team settling down, the second spell produced good football, bid it was only in the last quarter <>i an hour that either team scored. Greymouth forwards had got the better of the first half, with the backs also impressing, but they lacked the finish to open their account. Services were the attackers after the interval, and took the lead when R. Nelson scored well out after receiving from the blind side of a scrum about the 25 line. Greymouth equalised shortly after with a penalty for offside play, converted by J. Lindbom. Then just on time, W. Millett scored in the corner for Greymouth, after a number of unsuccessful attempts. Lindbom failed to convert, and the final score was Greymouth 6, Services 3. Mr. A. King was referee.
