RELIGION IN SCHOOLS

[to the editor.] Sir.—l advocate the teaching of the principle of religion, dealing with the Gospel, in. all public schools. In this era I believe that it is possible for some children to be brought up ignorant in the ways of God/ Most parents, no doubt, do something to enlighten their children on a subject which, I believe, should come first. There are others, however, who are either too lazy, ignorant or indifferent, but for the law their children might even be illiterate. It is for these latter children that I make this plea, that the fundamental principles of the Gospel be taught, at some stage, in all public schools. Also, let them be taught how God’s grqaf power, made known to thousands in the form of external wonders, is at work at such nlaces as Lourdes and St. Anne de Beaupre, near Quebec, where miraculous healings occur.— Yours, etc., SINCERE.
