MELBOURNE, May 9. Herbert Morns, the v’e)i-knowr jockey, and his son, aged 18, were killed in a level crossing accident early this morning when a car in which they were going quail shooting struck a light engine at Dandenona. 20 miles from Melbourne. Morris had been riding in Melbourne for 20 years and scored many successes in important races. His services were always in Uceen demand. He won the Australian Cup in 1937 on Mutable and also in 1943 on the New Zealand-bred Taramoa.
