REEFTON NOTES

[OUP. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, March 23. Form 111. of Reefton District High School numbering 24 pupils attended the meeting of the County Council on Thursday, in charge of Miss Archer for a lesson in the conduct of Council business. The visitors were welcomed by the chairman. After remaining some time and taking notes the party left and Margaret Riley, for the visitors thanked the Council for making the attendance of the party possible and requested permission to study maps of the County at a later date. This was granted. Gunner M. Crossan W.A.A.C., is spending leave with her mother at Black’s Point.

Sergeant-Major and Mrs McKessar, Christchurch are visiting Black’s Point.

The Runanga Co-operative Women’s Guild held their study circle evening in the Druids’Hall, Mrs. Reynolds presiding over a good attendance. Impromptu speeches were given by members. Games were won by Mesdames Smeaton, Kelly and Hughes. Mrs. Hughes, who is leaving the district was presented with a gift from the members by Mrs. Reynolds. After supper dancing and community singing were held.
