FIGHTING IN ITALY
EIGHTH ARMY ACTIVITY. (Roc. 10.5 a.m.) . O 1 LONDON, March 21. The main activity on the Italian front, yesterday was in the Eighth Army sector where Allied infantry improved their positions north-west of Mezzo on the Ravenna and the Ferrara' highway, says Reuter’s correspondent at Allied headquarters. A number of enemy prisoners was taken. ROOSEVELT ENVOY. RUGBY, March 21. Mr Edward J. Flynn, the former National Chairman of the Democratic Party of the United States, arrived in Italy after visits to Russia and Cairo as Mr. Roosevelt’s personal envoy He conferred to-day with Field Marshal Alexander. He will be received by the Pope.
