REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET.

AUCKLAND, February 19. The representative cricket match between Wellington and Auckland, which concluded at Eden Park today, was won outright by Auckland by eight wickets. Wellington in the first innings made 254, and Auckland replied with 2/9. At stumps on Saturday Wellington in the second innings had lost two wickets for 52. SOUTH ISLAND TEAM. CHRISTCHURCH, February 17. Six players from Canterbury, four from Otago, and one from Nelson comprise the South Island cricket team to play the North Island at Auckland on March 9, 10, and 12. The Auckland Swimming Centre has decided that owing to the travel restrictions it is not practicable to hold the North Island championships this season. The South Auckland Association conducted the championships last year, x and as Auckland’s was the only application, the meeting will be abandoned this season. Delegates agreed that the North and South Island championships be held each year, preferably prior to the New Zealand championships.
