Fit. Sgt. Richard Ludgvan Staples, whose death is announced; was a brother of Mrs. J. S. Ojala, of Greymouth. He was a farmer in the Wairarapa, where Mr. and Mrs. Ojala lived before being transferred to Greymouth.
