LATE MESSAGES
GERMAN SABOTAGE FORCE
LONDON. Dec. 20
Further details of the activities of Germans wearing American uniforms are given by Reuter’s correspondent with the American First Army, who says: Besides the special saboteur force there is a special task force which infiltrated behind the Amerianc lines to kill American army leaders. Some members of this unit drove in a convoy which included British Command cars. Others, who wore British uniforms were dropped by parachute. They carried in matchboxes smal bottes of sulphuric acid, the contents of which could be thrown into the faces of anybody intercepting them. Special classes were held at Friedenthal, near Berlin for this special force. German saboteurs are known to have taken uniforms from captured American officers, who were forced to strip to their underwear before being shot. Some wore British uniforms and carried British credentials. Many Germans who spoke English.with a British accent were placed in American war-prisoner cages to learn the. American accent. - - -
