Mr. I. Roche, of Dunedin, is visiting relations in Greymouth.

Mr and Mrs C. Moseley, Cobden, left this morning for Wellington. Rev. Father Bergin, of Mosgiel, is visiting the West Coast.

Admiral of the Fleet, Lord Keyes, and Lady Keyes, will visit Greymouth on Sunday next.

Mrs E. Caldwell was a passenger by this morning’s express for Christchurch.

Brigadier J. T. Burrows, who was recently appointed rector of the Waitaki Boys’ High School in succession to the late Mr. Frank Milner, has returned to New Zealand.

Major Francis Yeats-Brown, who wrote “Bengal Lancer,” died in London last week. He was 58. He served in the last war and joined up again in the present one.

The death occurred at Wellington on Christmas Day of Mr. Edward Wardell Pearce, Manager of the Land and Insurance Branch of Levin and Co., and director of the firm. He was aged 52.—P.A.

Miss M. Wingham, whose marriage is to take place at Greymouth, tomorrow, was met by fellow members of the staff of the Regent Theatre on Saturday evening and presented with a gift. The presentation was made by the manager, Mr. W. R. Blennerhassett, who expressed best wishes for the future happiness of Miss Wingham.

The death occurred at Greymouth A on Sunday morning, of Mrs Stella Elizabeth Duncan, of Barrytown Aged 39 years, she was born at Invercargill, and went to Barrytown nine years ago. She is survived by her husband, Mr W. J. Duncan, and one son, and her parents, Mr and Mrs R .C. Scott, of Invercargill. The funeral took place at Greymouth yesterday, Rev. T. G. Campbell conducting the services.

Canon Walter Wootton Averill, vicar of All Saints’ Church, Ponsonby, Auckland, and canon of the Auckland Cathedral, has been appointed vicar of St. Mary’s Church, Timaru,! to succeed the Ven. H. W. Monaghan, Archdeacon of Timaru, who has resigned to become vicar of All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North. Canon Averill, who is a son of Archbishop Averill, will commence his ministry in Timaru on Palm Sunday, March 23.
