VALUES GENERALLY STEADY.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 9. There was little change in prices at the Addington sale, yesterday, when lambs were in keen demand. A larger entry of fat cattle sold at par to slightly dearer rates. Store sheep.—A line of halfbred and three-quarterbred woolly ewe hoggets made from 34/4 to 37/7, and a pen of medium hoggets 25/6. There was keen bidding for a line of 136 woolly merino wethers, which made 23/-. In the shorn sheep section 112 good shorn ewe hoggets made 29/1, and others sold from 25/6 to 27/-. The best wether hoggets sold up to 24/1, good 21/3 to 23/-; 404 fourtooth wethers made from 21/4 to 23/7. Some good quality ewes and lambs were forward, the best selling at 22/-, all counted; good made from 19/- to 20/9, and medium from 16/to 17/6.

Fat lambs. —The highest price was secured by W. N. Chatterton (Dunsandel), who sold 20 from 33/7 to 38/10. Rangiora High School secured from 32/7 to 38/4 for a draft of 12, and R. James (Amberley) sold 18 from 33/7 to 37/1. Values were: Heavy lambs, 35/10 to 38/10; good, 28/7 to 32/1; medium, 23/7 to 25/10; light, to 22/-. Fat sheep.—The section again included a large proportion of prime wethers and ewes, with the usual quota of over-fat and light and unfinished sheep. Only a few woolly sheep were offering, ewes making to 33/10 and wethers to 38/6. Values were: Extra prime wethers, to 38/4. Prime wethrs, 34/1 to 36/10. Prime, medium-weight wethers, 28/- to 31/-. Fat cattle. —The entry totalled 490 head, compared with 533 last week and 460 a fortnight ago. Store cattle—Seven two-year Black Poll steers made £lO/2/-, a similar pen not so forward £9/8/-, a pen of eight two-year Black Poll heifers £6/18/-, and a pen of 11 light-conditioned Shorthorn cross heifers £4/7/-. Fresh cows for grazing made from £5/10/- to £6/13/6. Dairy cows.—Medium second and third calvers, £9 to £l2; others, £4 10/- to £B. Best heifers made from £9 to £l3; medium to good, £7 to £B/15/-; small and backward, £4 10/- to £6.

Fat pigs: Light porkers, 54/6 to £3 1/6; medium, £3/4/6 to £3/9/6; heavy, £3/12/6 to £3/19/6. Choppers, £4/18/6 to £9/18/6.
