YACHTING CHRISTCHURCH, November 6. The Christchurch Yachting Club has decided to resume racing for the Cornwell Cup this season. Mr W. Beanland, Commodore of the Club, stated to-day that he had wired the Cornwell Cup Committee m Auckland that the club was definitely running the Cup races this season. This decision was made in view of advice received from the Cup Committee that eleven contestants throughout the Dominion had indicated a desire to renew the contests. The last contest was held in 1941, when Christchurch Club’s crew secured the honours. It is proposed to hold the next contest on the Estuary at the end of January next. All challenges must be received by the Cornwell Cup Committee by the beginning of December.
