ROOSEVELT’S WIN EXPECTED
NEW YORK, November 5. President Roosevelt will, be reelected next Tuesday by a substantial margin ol the electoral vote, according to the “New York Times s poll of 56 political reporters throughout the country. They predict _ Mr Roosevcfit will win 29 States, with a total electoral vote of 332, and that Mr Dewey will win 19 States with a total electoral vote of 199. The reporters expect the winner to receive a very narrow margin on the popular vote, and that this will be reflected in the House of Representatives where the Republicans are expected to e;ain control through the election ol'~ll representatives giving them 223 members out of a total ol 435. The Senate probably will remain Democratic, altriough the Re-’ publicans may gain six to eight seats, leaving the Democrats 50 to 52 seals out of 96.
