MODERATOR-DESIGNATE

HASTINGS, November 5

Rev. J. W. McKenzie, of Epsom, was unanimously appointed Modera-tor-Designate at the Presbyterian Assembly at Hastings on Saturday. Mr. McKenzie’s nomination was supported by 15 Presbyteries. He will assume office as Moderator at the next General Assembly to be held at Invercargill. Senior chaplain to the 2nd N.Z.E.F.,with the rank of colonel, Mr. McKenzie recently returned to New Zealand on furlough from the Middle East. He has spent four years on active service in the present war, and is also a veteran of the Great War, when he spent three years with the troops.
