Mr. A. W. Muschamp, of the Christchurch Branch of the Union Bank of Australia, has been appointed to succeed Mr. N. C. Manchester, as accountant at the Greymouth Branch, and will arrive on Thursday.

The death occurred at Wanganui yesterday of Colonel Robert Hughes, a Maori war veteran, and one who had a long association with military life in Wanganui. He could be described as the founder of the WellingtonWest Coast Regiment.—P.A.

The death has occurred in Victoria, of Mrs. J. Gilbert, a former resident of Westport. Her husband predeceased her two years ago. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, three brothers, Messrs L. Hunter (Runanga), G. R. Hunter (Christchurch), and W. Hunter (Victoria); also three sisters in Victoria.

The death occurred yesterday, of Rev. Father Cornelius James Collins, parish priest of St. Bernadette’s Church, Forbury, Dunedin. The late Father Collins, who was 60 years of age, became a Professor at the Holy Cross Seminary at Mosgiel, where he taught for many years. He was born at Invercargill. He graduated M.A. at the Otago University, He was one of the first students at the Mosgiel Seminary, and was among the first priests ordained from that college in 1909.—P.A.

The death occurred yesterday,, at Greymouth, of Mr. William Senior, of Brunner, aged 72 years. He was born at Dodwirth. Yorkshire, and came to Brunner as a child. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Roy (Greymouth) and Selwyn (Brunner); one brother, Charles (Greymouth), and five sisters: Mesdames G. Chapman (Motueka), J. Haisty (Christchurch), C. Butler (Riccarton), J. Foster (Picton), and M. Sweetman (Wairoa). The funeral took place privately at Karoro to-day.
