The following is the district forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, to-day:— Situation: There is a depression east of Canterbury and an anticyclone extending from the Tasman to south of New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. Friday: Light to moderate easterly winds soon prevailing with weather becoming fair to fine. Cool night and mild day temperatures. Further outlook: Fine.
