INDIANS PROMINENT
(Rec. 10.0 a.m.)
LONDON, October 31. Indian troops from the State of Nabha. fighting their first major action, played a prominent part in the establishment of the bridgehead over the Ronco River, says. Reuter's correspondent at Allied Headquarters in Italy. The Allies had to force their way against the torrent waist deep, and when they reached the west bank supplies had to be slung across the river on ropes. The crossing of the Ronco has advanced the Eighth Army lines one mile north of the contested town of Meldola. Other Indian troops have seized new positions on Monte Marzalella, west of Rocco and San Scacciano, on the Pont Assieve-Forli road. Heavy rain is still making progress difficult in the lowlands, but the Eighth Army forces on the Adriatic are approaching Revenna. The Brazilian troops on the west coast have captured Calonini, two miles west of Gallicano.
